Dear parents/carers,
Welcome to our last newsletter of 2025, and what a fantastic autumn term we have had here at HNTPS! Our two school values of Respect and Resilience have definitely shone throughout this term. Staff have identified lots of children who have treated others with respect whilst in the classroom and on the playground and I certainly have noticed when showing visitors around the school how kind and caring the children are with each other and how respectful they have been to any new visitor. This half-term, the children have thought carefully about what resilience means to them and found out more about how we can best improve our own emotional resilience, especially when things become tricky. It has been so lovely to see the children use and apply the skills we have been sharing in our weekly assemblies and through our class PSHE sessions to best manage their emotional resilience to overcome big feelings with huge positive results. Well done everyone!
We have had lots of visitors to school who have enhanced the topics the children have been focusing on, and the classes have enjoyed the exciting learning they have explored across the term. They have produced some brilliant power points, story writing and illustrations to demonstrate their understanding of what they have been learning about. Our morning smart starts have supported the children’s ability to quickly recall facts which have aided our maths learning this term. We are extremely proud of all our children and the focus, determination and effort that have encompassed our school ethos ‘To Be the Best We Can Be’. A massive thank you to our hard-working and devoted staffing team who work tirelessly to enable our children to flourish in all areas of the curriculum.
School Christmas Dinner
On Wednesday this week, Mrs Robinson and her team served over 100 Christmas lunches to children and staff. The meal was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and included all the trimmings! A huge thank you to Mrs Robinson, not only for our Christmas lunch, but for all the delicious food she cooks for the children across the school every week. The number of children returning for seconds (if there is any!) is a credit to the wonderful meals she serves us every day!
Christmas Fair and Friends
A massive thank you to our FRIENDS team for organising and coordinating a fantastic Christmas fair last week. Their continuous hard work and efforts throughout the year and the funds they raise enable us as a school to reduce the costs of several trips and visits, purchase new equipment to support learning and provide a range of exciting activities that bring the school community together. Please do speak to Lisa Chapple, our amazing chair of FRIENDS, if you would like to be part of the team.
Christingle Service
On Wednesday afternoon, we held our key stage 2 Christingle Service in the Gospel Hall. The children sang a range of Christmas carols and shared their version of the Christmas story. A big well done to Bella W who played Silent Night beautifully on the keyboard. The lighting of the Christingles is always a special time to reflect and be grateful for everything we have as well as focusing on the true meaning of Christmas and the special time we get to spend with our family and friends. Thank you to all our parents who came along to celebrate with us.
Governors at HNTPS
We welcomed some new governors to the team this term, and they have been spending time visiting the school, speaking to children and meeting with myself to talk through our school improvement plan for the year. A huge thank you to all the team; Paul Booth, our chair of governors, Julian Bennett, Donna Ford and Kyla Manenti for their support and challenge throughout the term. We also would like to thank Paul for the delicious biscuits that were thoroughly enjoyed by all the staff this week!
Volunteers at HNTPS
A huge thank you to our kind volunteers who offer up their free time to support our children throughout the school.
Our Final Goodbye
Today, we said our final goodbye to Mrs French, who has been teaching in class 1 for the last four years. We will miss her calm and nurturing presence around the school but wish her all the happiness as she moves into retirement. Please do keep in touch to keep us up to date with all your planned adventures in your campervan! Just to remind parents that Mrs Carter will be joining Mrs Radley in class 1 to teach on Thursday morning and Friday. The team have spent some time together over the past few weeks to enable a smooth transition for after the holidays. Mrs Hopkins will be joining us full time after Christmas and will be the main teacher in class 4.
On behalf of the children and staff, we would like to thank you, our parents and carers for your continuous support. We are always extremely grateful for the attendance at our weekly celebration assemblies, book and biscuit events and other invitations we open up to our parents and carers. Celebrating these milestones with our children is hugely important, and we know you being there is massively important to them, so thank you!
We would like to wish all our families and wider community a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We hope you all have a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying some special quality time together.
We look forward to seeing all our children back at school on TUESDAY 6th JANUARY.
Mrs Cook
