Enabling children to be the best that they can be!

Dear parents and carers,

World Book Day

We’ve had a wonderful end to the week celebrating World Book Day and all things books, stories, and characters! The school was full of excitement as the children arrived dressed as their favourite characters from books, and we were so impressed by the creativity and effort that had gone into the costumes.

Every child looked fantastic, and it was a real joy to see such a wide variety of characters brought to life throughout the day. One of the highlights was our costume parade, where each class had the opportunity to show off their brilliant outfits. The children loved cheering each other on and sharing their favourite stories and characters.

A huge thank you to all families for the time, creativity, and effort that went into preparing these wonderful costumes. Your support helped make the day extra special for the children and created a fantastic atmosphere across the school.

We will be announcing our costume winners from each class, along with a few photos and more details from the day, in next week’s newsletter—so keep an eye out! Thank you to Mrs Dorrell for organising such a fun day for everyone.  Finally, a special thank you to Friends' for donating book vouchers for our Class costume winners.

Work Experience

This week we have had the pleasure of welcoming Molly Dorrell to the school for her work experience. During the week, she spent time in each of the classes supporting the children with their learning, as well as helping with a range of administrative tasks around the school.

A big thank you to Molly for joining us this week and for all of her help and support—it has been lovely to have you as part of the school community!

Cross-country

Next week, 13 children from across the school will be heading to High Bickington to represent the school in our TEAM cross-country competition. They will be taking part in a series of races alongside children from other schools across the trust.

The course will take them through woodland paths, up some very steep hills, and around open fields—so it will certainly be an exciting challenge! The children have shown great enthusiasm and determination in preparing for the event, and we are very proud of them for representing our school.

We wish them all the very best of luck and hope they have a fantastic time taking part.

Parent Consultations

A reminder that our Arbor Parent Consultation booking system went live on Wednesday evening, and appointments are already filling up quickly. If you haven’t done so yet, please make sure you book a time to meet with your child’s teacher.

These meetings are a great opportunity to talk together about your child’s progress, celebrate their achievements, and discuss how we can continue to support their learning moving forward. We look forward to seeing you there.

Friends of HNTPS Bingo Event

A massive thank you to Lisa Chapple and the rest of the Friends' Team who organised a fantastic Bingo event last weekend, raising money to support the school.  The money raised from the fundraising events helps to support with school trips, visits and resources for our children across the school.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Cook

Pupil Achievements this week!

Curtis and Archie both participated in the last Bremco race at the weekend and both came away with medals for participating in the under 9s boys category.

Curtis came 34th out of 43 runners on the last race with a finishing time of 9 minutes and 50 seconds.

He was 45th out of a field of 85 runners overall.

Both boys did exceptionally well because it was a real tough race and super boggy in places!

Congratulations to Archie as last Saturday he competed in the South West whirlwind tennis championships, with all his matches very close.  Well done!

Congratulations to Molly and Imogen who have qualified for the National Pony Club Quiz final to be held in Loughborough in April.  They are part of the Dulverton West Pony Club quiz team who won the area quiz competition in Tiverton this weekend.
