Dear parents and carers,
This week, Mrs Radley shared the journey of our newly appointed Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally. We reflected on her roles and responsibilities and the large celebration of her achievements as she becomes the first female Archbishop to hold this prestigious position in the Church's 1,400-year history. The children discussed what they thought she would be feeling when stepping into this role and her self-belief, determination and resilience that enabled her to get there.
A huge thank you to all our parents who attended our parent consultation for their child/ren this week. Working in partnership with our families is something we pride ourselves on at HNTPS, and we hope that spending time with your child/ren’s class teacher will continue to strengthen our relationships with our families and enable all our children to thrive and flourish not only in their academic successes but socially and emotionally too. If you were unable to make our parents’ consultations this week, please speak directly to your child/ren’s class teacher to arrange a convenient time. Many thanks for your continued support.
Egg-cellent Egg Rolling Competition
We are very egg-cited for our Easter egg rolling competition taking place on Monday afternoon. To take part, children will need to bring in their decorated hard-boiled egg to school on Monday morning. Our carefully constructed ramp will be put in place in readiness for rolling our eggs, with the furthest eggs from each class winning a special Easter-related prize kindly donated from our Friends team. We are looking forward to seeing all the children’s wonderful creations!
Rev Gary Visit
Next Tuesday, Rev Gary will be visiting all the classes across the school to reflect on the learning they have been covering in their Religious Education and World Views lessons this term. These sessions have given the children an opportunity to share what they have been learning as well as ask questions about the topics they have been learning. We are looking forward to inviting Rev Gary into school on Tuesday.
Book and Biscuit Session
Next Wednesday, we are inviting parents into school for this half-term’s book and biscuit session. Our focus for this session will enable the children to share the skills they have been developing in both Art and DT this term. Parents are welcome into school from 2:45 – 3:30pm.
Bring your pet to school week
We are looking forward to the array of animals that will be visiting HNTPS next week. A huge thank you to our parents for volunteering their time to bring the children’s pets into school. This will give all our children a great insight into the responsibility needed for looking and caring for an animal. If you haven’t signed up yet, please speak to your child/ren’s class teacher to organise a slot.
Year 2 Forest School Session
Next Tuesday afternoon, our year 2 children will be enjoying their last forest school session with some delicious smores around the firepit. Our half-termly forest school sessions for children in years 1 -6 provide an amazing opportunity for the children to develop their learning outdoors, build positive relationships with one another as well as enjoying the wonderful nature we are lucky to have around us in this beautiful part of the country. Please can we remind all parents that children will need to bring their waterproofs and wellies to school for this session on Tuesday afternoon.

School Tuck Shop
Thank you to all those parents who continue to support our weekly tuck shop which is led by our school council team. Mrs Radley and the eco warriors have purchased lots of new plants and hanging baskets that will be placed in our sensory garden over the coming weeks. Information on booking your child/ren for next half-term’s tuck shop will be shared in next week’s newsletter. Thank you for your continued support.
As the weather is so unpredictable currently, please can we ask that all children bring a coat to school every day. We aim to provide outdoor play as often as we can and are very much looking forward to providing an opportunity for the children to use the village field for lunchtime play when we return after the Easter holidays.
Just to remind all our families that school will finish next Thursday for the Easter break. Parents and families are welcome to join us for our celebration assembly on Thursday morning at 9:10am in the Gospel Hall where the children will share some of the Easter songs they have been learning with Mrs Dorrell in our weekly singing assemblies.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Cook
