Enabling children to be the best that they can be!

Dear parents and carers,

This week Rev. Gary led our assembly which explored Elijah and the Ravens – all about taking risks.  Thank you to Rev. Gary for coming in to see us all.

Assessments in year 1 and 4 this week

A huge well done to our children in year 4 who completed their Multiplication Check assessments and to our children in year 1 who completed their phonics screen checks this week.  The children all completed their assessments to the best of their ability and have worked incredibly hard with their daily practices in the classroom as well as practising their key skills at home too.  Thank you to our parents for their continued support and our staff who have been involved in preparing the children for their assessments.  Results of these assessments will be shared in the children’s school reports, which will be shared with parents in July.

Postponed Sports day

The weather has been so unpredictable over the past couple of weeks and after checking the Parish field on Monday and again on Thursday, we decided to postpone both sports days this week.  We have scheduled in the date of Tuesday 23rd June from 1–3:15pm for children in reception to year 6 and Friday 26th June at 10am for children in the nursery.  Fingers crossed the weather is much brighter for these dates, and we look forward to seeing you all for a great afternoon of teamwork and individual skills.

Colour Run Event

Our FRIENDS have organised an exciting event for the children to enjoy across the school.  Our colour run event will take place on Friday 3rd July from 1:30-3pm in the Parish field.  More information about the event and how you can sign your child up to take part will be shared with you on Monday.

Tempest Photography - Class Photos - Thursday 18th June

If nursery parents would like their child to be included in the nursery group photo, and it is not your child's normal nursery day, please meet us at the village hall at 1.30pm.

Book and Biscuit Event

Just a further reminder that our next book and biscuit event will take place next Tuesday 16th June from 2:45-3:30pm.  Parents are invited to come to school to share what the children have been learning in history, geography, religion and world-view subjects.  We look forward to seeing our parents at this event.

As the weather continues to be so unpredictable, please can we ask children to come to school with a coat.  We also ask that they bring a water bottle to school each day which can be refilled if necessary.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Cook
