Dear parents and carers,
The weather this week certainly tested us all! We are incredibly proud of how well the children coped during the period of extreme heat, adapting brilliantly and happily spending playtimes indoors or in the shade when outside.
A huge thank you goes to our staff, who worked tirelessly to ensure all children remained safe, cool and well hydrated. Although temperatures are expected to be lower next week, please continue to support us by sending children to school with sun cream applied, a named water bottle and a hat.
Sports Day
On Friday, we were delighted to welcome our Nursery children and their families for a fun-filled morning of sporting activities. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make it such a lovely event.
Our KS1 and KS2 Sports Day has now been rescheduled for 7th July, and we are hoping for more favourable weather, so the children can enjoy a fantastic day of sport and teamwork.
Gigglebox
Excitement is building for this year's end-of-term production, Gigglebox. Rehearsals are underway and our backstage crew are busy preparing props.
Thank you to families who are helping children learn their lines at home. Costume information will be sent out next week, and we will be keeping requirements as simple and affordable as possible. Please make use of borrowed items, charity shop finds or things you already have at home where possible. If you have any difficulties sourcing costume items, please let us know.
Performances will take place on Friday 17th July at 1:45pm and 6:00pm.
Citizenship Awards
Please ensure all completed Citizenship scrapbooks are returned to school by Friday 3rd July so that we can celebrate the children's work and prepare for our awards ceremony.
The Citizenship Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday 15th July at 2:45pm in the Gospel Hall, recognising the hard work, commitment and positive contributions of our children throughout the year.
Wildside
A huge thank you to Mrs Dorrell, Mrs Gordon, Mrs Wallis and Miss Northover for accompanying our Class 3 children on their Wildside residential visit.
The children enjoyed a fantastic experience, developing their independence through new challenges and adventures. Staying away from home is a big step, and they embraced it brilliantly. Although there may not have been much sleep, we are sure they will enjoy a well-earned rest this weekend!
Move-Up Day
On Monday, children will spend time in their September classes, meeting their new teachers and classmates and becoming familiar with new routines and environments. Through a range of activities, they will begin to look ahead to the exciting learning opportunities that await them next academic year. Children will register in their usual class between 8.50am and 9.00am on the day.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Rachael Hopkins
