Dear parents and carers,  

School Leadership Team

Today in our celebration assembly, we shared this year’s school leadership teams.  Staff were impressed by the number of children who have applied for positions this year and the letters they wrote which included key skills and ideas they would bring to their role.  Groups will meet regularly with staff leading their discussions and ideas for the year ahead.  Mrs Hopkins will be leading the sports leaders, Mrs Dorrell will be overseeing the librarians, Mrs Radley will work alongside the eco warriors and I will be supporting the school council group.  Staff are looking forward to their first meetings with the children and gathering their ideas for this year! 

Curriculum Newsletters

Parents can find this term’s curriculum newsletters for class 2, 3 and 4 alongside this week’s newsletter.  The curriculum newsletters give parents an overview of what your child/ren will be learning across the curriculum in all subjects.  If you have an artefact, or you can share some knowledge of a particular subject area, please do speak to your child’s class teacher.  Many thanks for your continued support.

Year 6 Open Days

There are open days scheduled for our year six children to visit GTS,  Park and Chumleigh Secondary Schools.  If you have a child who is currently in year 6, applications for their secondary school place are now open and will close on the 31^st October.  Please see dates below for the open days and a link for applying for your child’s secondary place.  Please let the school office know if your child is attending any open days during school hours and we will record this appropriately in the register.

GTS                                                                        Monday 21^st to Friday 25^th September

Park Secondary School                                   Monday 28^th, Tuesday 29^th and Wednesday 30^th September

Chumleigh Secondary School                      Tuesday 29^th September and Thursday 1^st October

School Tuck Shop

A huge thank you to all the parents who have signed up for our very successful tuck shop this half-term.  The newly appointed school council popped around the classes towards the end of the day to deliver the sweet treats to children across the school.  We will be meeting next week to discuss what the children would like to use our tuck shop profits to develop within the school this year.

SEND support plans

Individual support plans will be shared with parents at the beginning of next week.  If you would like to discuss your child’s support plan, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
