Dear parents and carers,
This week in our class assembly, we explored the important message that "privates are private" as part of our learning about respect, personal boundaries and keeping ourselves safe. Children discussed which parts of the body are private, why everyone has a right to privacy, and how showing respect includes respecting our own bodies and the bodies of others. The assembly reinforced the idea that if anything makes a child feel uncomfortable, worried or unsafe, they should speak to a trusted adult. These age-appropriate discussions help children develop confidence, understanding and respect for themselves and others.
Book and Biscuit – Tuesday 13th October
Just to remind all our parents and carers that we have our first book and biscuit event this coming Tuesday 13th October at 2:45-3:30pm. The children are looking forward to sharing their maths learning with their parents and carers. We hope you can join us for this session.
Harvest Celebration – Tuesday 20th October
Once again, a huge thank you for all your generous food donations we have received over the last week. We will continue to collect donations over the next couple of weeks before donating them to the Freedom Centre in Barnstaple. We warmly welcome parents to join us for our Harvest Celebration on Tuesday 20th October at 2:45 in the Gospel Hall.
Year 6 Cake Sale:
A huge thank you from the year 6 parents who organised the cake sale this week to raise funds for the Bude residential. An impressive £90 was raised in total.
FRIENDS of HNTPS:
A huge thank you to Lisa Chapple and the rest of the FRIENDS team for all of their hard work and dedication to fundraising and organising exciting events for all of our children to enjoy. Lisa has now stepped down as Chair of FRIENDS and we thank her for her hard work and contribution to HNTPS. Sarah Marchant has now been voted in as Chair and the school look forward to working closely with the FRIENDS team, who are an invaluable resource to the school. If you are interested in joining our fantastic FRIENDS team, please let us know.
We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that children leave personal belongings, toys and collectables at home unless specifically requested by the school. Bringing personal items into school can sometimes lead to distractions, loss or damage, and can cause unnecessary upset. By keeping these special items at home, children can focus fully on their learning and play throughout the school day. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Cook
